Creating your sense of style should be fun, not a daunting task. Don't take yourself too seriously and most importantly, wear only what you love.
We all have items lurking in our closets that we never wear. If an outfit doesn't make you feel good, what's the point? If you hate wearing it, get rid of it (here are MSP's closet decluttering steps). Your clothing should always give you confidence.
Clothing is a reflection of your self-esteem...
Welcome to the Missus Smarty Pants Style Blog!
Our style should evolve to express our inner and outer beauty.
Life is so much better when we look and feel our best, don't you agree?

Stop The Self-Sabotage!
"Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn't happen."
~ Alyce P. Cornyn-Selby
1) Survey what you are doing
Forget justifying why you did (or didn't do) this or that; just watch yourself. The adage "Don't listen to what people say, but watch what they do" can be applied to yourself as well. Imagine you are someone else whose watching your behavior. Ask yourself: Why did I act that way? Was it the need to be in control (even if that control is related to making things fail) or was it the need for excitement through conflict, or the desire for attention or sympathy from others? Why do you do what you did?2) Success is not black or white
Imagine what true success will be like. It may be different from what you'd been unconsciously assuming. Successful relationships, for example, don't work well all of the time; earning more money won't solve all your problems. Success isn't black or white; it's all relative. So remember that becoming successful (in whatever way) won't feel so strange when it happens because it's a natural part of being human - but the idea of success may feel strange.3) Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater
I love this saying the most...because people most often self-sabotage because of their perfectionism! They say to themselves if it isn't perfect, then what's the point? You may have heard that people on strict diets trying to lose weight will more likely overeat if they feel they have veered off their diet even slightly: "What the hell, I've totally blown it now. I might as well completely binge!" People not on diets don't do this as often. So if you have a little setback or mini-failure...consciously stop yourself from throwing it all away. STOP seeing things that go 'a little wrong' as wrong and therefore ruin it completely.
STOP sabotaging your chance to look and "be" stylish! Women that are stylish are in every age group, size and height. Join MissusSmartyPants today and take advantage of this online weekly style coach. You can be more stylish...one babystep at a time!

A Style Public Announcement You Must READ!
What happened to the days when things were as they appeared? Is it me, or is everything nowadays photo shopped?
The fact is, every photo is "touched up". Not one celebrity allows a photo to be put out without having his/or her "people" approve the photo first. (This means they photo shop every photo you see of them). They become "perfect" people...making you feel you are not one of the beautiful people because you never look like that!
Of course we all want to see flattering photos, of ourselves and others. With the wrong angle or captured at an awkward moment, we all look bad. But the bigger problem is photo shop is over-used and abused to create unbelievable (read: unattainable) photos. Fantasy has become reality and it's getting hard to tell the difference or worse yet: we don't know the difference anymore!
Here is where Target (yeah, I love Target too) got caught doing some BAD PHOTO SHOPPING! Serves them right for the backlash they got for this bad photo!
My point is, well to point out that what you see is NOT REAL! All photos are retouched to make them "perfect" for the advertiser.
Women have curves and we need to know we are beautiful and deserve to be seen as we ARE! Stop the photo shop madness! Show us what the swimwear looks like on real women. I'm thinking the media and advertisers might just find real women like to see REAL women...just like them! Whew! Jumping off my soap box now. Thanks for reading.
Love, Leslie

Notice how the space between her thighs is unnaturally high?
It's fake. A case of bad photo shopping.
Target got caught and REMOVED this photo!
