Do you want a better butt?

Check out this butt...yours can be this great!

I've been thinking about pants. I know it's sounds kinda funny that I'm thinking about such an item. But (no pun intended) pants--really great fitting ones can really help you improve your shape. Who doesn't want that???!!

Don't overlook the fit if your pants. If they are saggy, baggy, too short or outdated...you are not looking your best!

As a fashion stylist, I like to share ways to help you dress your best. So here is one main thing I help my personal shopping clients understand about their pants: The more parallel the inner edges of the pockets are to the middle seam--the better your butt will look. So get checking your "bottom line" in a 3-way mirror! Of course cut and style also are important and it depends on your body shape too...but (here's the butt word again, LOL) DO check your back pocket placement!

Oh and one more thing...if you are looking for really great support and style suggestions consider joining my free style group. Lots of helpful women chatting about their style here: https://www.bigtent.com/groups/missusmsp

  1. Hi Leslie,
Speaking of pants, hearing your praises for Not Your Daughter's Jeans so often, I just had to go to the mall and try on a pair. I didn't think any jeans could be that good. But, after trying them on, I didn't want to take them off! They felt so good and were so flattering to my 50 year old figure! So, little Ms. Thrifty here plunked down the big bucks for a pair. After wanting to wear them every day for the next month, I ordered two more pair from Zappos. (Did you know Zappos has free overnight shipping on clothes and the same return policy as on their shoes?) Well, I'm spending my winter in those jeans and loving every minute of it. I've not regretted spending my Christmas gift money on them at all! Thank you for recommending these jeans Leslie. You've never steered me wrong!

And, thanks for stopping by blog and leaving me a comment today. It made my day!

  4. "The more parallel the inner edges of the pockets are to the middle seam" This confuses me. Are the inner (closest to the middle) vertical seam of the pockets suppose to be parallel to the middle seam?

  5. Lissa,

Let me try to clarify. Yes, to answer your question above.

You want your back pockets on your jeans to be parallel to your middle back seam (you know the seam that runs through your bottom?)Lined up and straight and in the middle. NOT set WIDE (or your butt will look that way) NOT high, angled and wide or small and low. RIGHT in the MIDDLE for the best butt.

Pockets should also be in proportion to the size of your butt..if yours is large, the pockets should take up a larger portion. You DON'T want to have a large butt and wear jeans with small back pockets..I'm guessing you understand what happens....your butt will then look HUGE! A case of "bad jeans" happens.

  6. Any suggestions for a brand of jeans that sit slightly below the waist, are slim through the hips and thighs but not "skinny" legs? Even the NYDJ's were a little full for me in these areas.
